Last week I was taking part of student exchange in Italy. That was my first time taking part in that. So I was a little bit nervous. We went to Italy on 17th May and came back home on 24th May.
Firstly we take a bus to Riga airport. It was my first time travelling with plane and I got cold before that. Many people told me that it’s bad to fly with cold. But after we were in the sky I didn’t feel anything. After we land in Turin there was two Italy boy who bring us to Saluzzo. It was hot day. We meet our hosts and got some food. After that we went home. Home was big and beautiful.
Next day we went to back Turin to see the city. It was very nice and old city place. We got some free time, to buy some food or clothes.

After that we went to big supermarket. That was a boring place, because there was nothing to buy. Then we went home to take some nap.

In the evening we went out, to see small town where I stayed.

On Friday we travelled to mountains. That was like 2000 m high mountain. I didn’t go to the top, because I was sick and it was hard to breathe. When everyone was down, we went to have some food in restaurant. That was good food, but I don’t understand how Italy people eat so much and they are all so thin.
On Saturday we went to old school to listen to some Italian people music talent. That was very nice and well played. Later we went to market. There was everything you needed. We got like two hours and later we played some ball games in school. In the evening we went to city party. Everyone was there. We danced a lot and next day my legs hurt so much.
On Sunday we went to BBQ near river. I burned my back and hand. We where there all day. On Monday we went to see the Sea and swim there. That day was hot and it was rock beach so it was hard to walk. That was our last day before we came home.
That was my first and coolest student exchange ever. I enjoyed a lot and I want to go back there. It’s good that we have that opportunity in our school.

Our school has some good contacts with foreign schools and this year we could take part of students’ exchange with Italians.
On 19th January 2017 25 Italian students and 2 teachers arrived in Kanepi.
I hosted two wonderful girls – Monica and Elisabetta. The night turned out fun, girls settled in very quickly and everything went well. Actually there were some problems with luggages but my family found a good solution. In first evening Monica and Elisabetta met my family, ate a little and went sleep.
On Friday me and my girls went school together. Foreign visitors had a school tour and also  met the head of Kanepi parish. They had some lessons together where students presented presentations about Estonia. At the end of the schoolday there was basketball match - Italians vs Estonians. In the evening all the people who were in this project came together and had a little party in the Kanepi cultural house. We played games and listened cool facts about Estonia after all that it was time for dancing.
Saturday was quite busy day. In the morning we went school and listened lecture about the Kuperjanov Infantry Battalion. There were also some kind of snake exhibition. Later others went to Haanja. Unfortunately I was sick and couldn’t take part of it. After that tiring day our little group of friends went to eat and play bowling.
On Sunday we took time off and went to Värska Sanatorium. We visited Sience Centre AHHAA, there we met others exchange pairs too.
Monday – last full day with our Italian friends. We started day early like every usual schoolday. There was a concert by Estonian singer Gerli Padar at school. After that musical hour we went to Tartu where we visited Institute of Physics. There were some science students who showed us different experiments and then we all visited some workshops where we built spagetti bridges and made handbands.
In conclusion it was amazing experience. Italians are very enthusiastic and full of energy. I am happy that our little school have this possibility to make these kind of projects.

Students' exchange written by Laura

Hello! I am going to write about the students’ exchange which took place in my school on 19th-24th January. Sad part about it is that I was sick at the time so I couldn’t be part of many activities.
Italians arrived in the evening on Thursday. I couldn’t host anybody so my girl Elisabetta was staying at Merit’s place. It was actually great because mine and Merit’s guest Monica were best friends.
For the first time I saw all the Italians on Friday night. We met at the party for Italian and Estonian students so we could get to know each other. My first impression of Elisabetta was that she was absolutely stunning. Also when we started talking then turned out she was friendly and kind, too. The night went well. I had fun in my own little company. The game where we had to teach foreign people the “Põdral maja metsa sees” song was very fun which they learned pretty fast by the way. The party ended at 10 o’clock with a huge disco.
On Saturday Italians got to see different snakes and presentation about Estonian National Defence Forces. Later they went to Haanja and visited Suur Munamägi, then went hiking. In the evening me, Merit and Jakob brought our Italians to play bowling. It was a lot of fun and we got to know each other better. After we spent couple of hours at Merit’s place.
On Sunday morning my father took me and Merit’s “household” to Värska’s waterpark, where we showed Italians the real Estonian sauna. I hope we didn’t cause them any traumas. When we were done enjoying South-Estonia’s beauty we brought them to Pizza Olive and had a wonderful lunch. After a heavy meal Jakob picked us up and we went to Ahhaa’s science centre. The guests were pretty pleased with that experience.
As the leaving day got closer we started to appreciate the time with Elisabetta and Monica more and more. On Monday visited our school Estonian singer Gerli Padar. Later that day we visited University of Tartu Institute of Physics.
Unfortunately had arrived the day when the Italian students went back home. I was really sad to see them go but luckily I’ll see them again in May in Italy!

Italian students’ exchange programme

I took part in student exchange programme when Italian students came to Estonia for a week. They arrived at Thursday and my Italian student name was Gabriele. He was a good person to host.

Friday there was a basketball match between Estonia and Italian students. The Italian students played quite good. Unfortunately Estonia lost and I don’t know the reason why. But we only lost by 7 points so not much. After the match there was some free time and then started a party in Kanepi culture house. There were all sorts of food and drinks. After when the EDM show started Italian students went crazy they took off their clothes and started dancing. This was a great experience because we all saw how Italian youngsters party. Of course they wanted to smoke anywhere and anytime but in Estonia as everybody know nobody smokes inside. I think they also liked the Estonian food what was offered there because my Italian always ate something when I saw him he again came from the table something in his hand but so was other students too. It lasted until 10 o’clock and then the day was over.

In general Italian students are a lot lauder then we are as we saw when they had lunch in schools canteen and they just can’t shut up they always have something to say. But they are nice people and I hope to see them all again in May when we go to Italy.

Student’s exchange with Italy

We had a students exchange with students from Saluzzo. I host one boy. He’s name is Federico Tavella. They where in Estonia 6 days. We had a lot of fun. They arrive in Estonia at 19. January, at eight o’cloak. We had a little eat and after that we went to sleep.

Friday we went to school. They had a house tour and after they come with us in Germany lesson. We made 5 group where was 3 Estonia student and 2 Italy. We have to teach them some German words and after they need to spell them. We got huge paper where was like 10 or more words. They got a lot of problems with that, because they don’t speak German. For us it was funny, because they spell word so funnily. After lesson we had lunch. Then they went to parish house and we went to lesson. At seven lesson we got basketball match between Estonia and Italy. I was playing with Laur, Tauno, Kristen, Kädrili and Kaisa. In our team I was the best player, because I made the most points, over 20.

In the evening we had a little party with Estonia and Italy. There was some food, drinks and a lot of music. Firstly we played some Estonia games and dances. After that there was a break and then we had to learn a Italy song and make some moves with that. There was 5 group and everyone got 10 points, because everyone got something special in they performance.
In Sunday we went to Tartu to visit Science Center Ahhaa. He had a lot of fun there because he like science. We where there more then one hour and then we went to eat. After eating we show them little bit Tartu and then we came back to Kanepi and show Sheep to them. In the evening we went to birthday party with other Italy student.

They leave Estonia in Tuesday at 7.30. We need to wake very early to get everything and then they leave with bus. I’m already waiting to go Italy, because it was nice to speak with them and I feel I little bit lonely.
